Does the sweater curse only apply to significant others? I made a baby sweater for my new grandson, and he wears it a lot – so far, so good. My hubby *wants* me to make one for him; now I’m not sure I should!!

I think the New Orleans Saints are cursed. From what I understand the Superdome was built on Indian burial grounds and has voodoo curses on it.

The curse of Atuk is another strange case. It’s been held responsible for the deaths of John Belushi, Sam Kinison, John Candy, and Chris Farley. Wikipedia has an entry on it…

I think another one is getting someone’s name tattooed on you. I can’t even count the number of couples I know personally who broke up after one or both of them got a tattoo of the other’s name. It really seems to be a curse.

Of course, with all of these curses, there are a number of other factors that go into the equation. The only one on this list that doesn’t have a lot of explainable or otherwise common factors between the cursed is Poltergeist. Supposedly, a lot of supernatural stuff went along with that one…not just bad stuff happening randomly or teams that keep losing because they suck.

The SNL curse is baloney. That show has been on for more than twenty years– long enough for any number of cast members, especially if they’re immersed in the Hollywood lifestyle of booze, drugs and hard living, to run out their lives. As for those who got sick, well, people get sick and die all around us it’s only because they’re relatively famous that people notice.

If a meteor hit the studio during taping and killed everyone, then you’d have something.
