I saw a mental_floss in an episode of NBC’s “Las Vegas”, my guilty pleasure this summer. I think it was season 3. I had to rewind and pause the DVD just to make sure. I must admit, it made me feel less guilty about watching the show. Where else might we come across an issue on the small (or big) screen?

My introduction to Product Placement was the movie “Brainstorm.” (early ’80’s) You can’t help noticing all the Coca Cola plugs. I flat out laughed during one scene. People talking while sitting at a table, holding Coke cans as if in a commercial. A big red Coke vending machine centered in between them, in the background but still “center stage” (so to speak).

On product placement, apparently the Starbucks logo was visible in every single shot in Fight Club.

I have to admit that the Friends episode pictured above was the first I had heard of Mental Floss! But I looked it up right away and ended up ordering a birthday subscription for my dad.
