Currently NO evidence on that. While our sun MIGHT have a companion star, there is NO evidence on our twin star(if one exists) causing massive meteor impacts on the planet Earth every so often in history.

If you are talking about the asteroids in the asteroid belt then Jupiter is keeping them from making another planet or even escaping

The gamma and x-rays will not impact us on Earth for our atmosphere protects us. Our atmosphere is opaque in those wavelengths so nothing can get in or out in those wavelengths.

RE: The Accelerating Universe

If space is expanding and time is extricably linked to space yielding the space/time continuum what happens to matter which is also linked to space/time? As the space/time continuum expands doesn’t mater expand to a degree along with it? Is there a minimum density for matter to remain stable? As space/time expands will the density of matter become so light that it, itself, evaporates? Will the matter within our space/time explode into an infinite number of big bangs creating a foam of universes in the new cold expanded universe? I have seen much conjecture that our universe is but one among an infinite number of universal bubbles structured much like an expanding foam. Is this how the expanding universal foam propagates??????

The exploding star – Coming at us at the speed of light or faster, we would never see it explode before it hit us. It’s interesting that the Bible states that “…the elements will melt away with fervent heat.” But that is not supposed to take place until after Jesus rules and reigns on earth for a thousand years. So, not to worry yet.
