In Key West, Florida there was/is(have not been in a long time) a shop called the Cat House where all sorts of cat memoribilia is sold. Toys, posters, mugs, anything and everything involving cats can be found there. What made/makes the store unique is a couple of things. It actually was a brothel at one point the origional bar is still in veiw. Even better though was the resident cat named....Madame. Her bed was at the front door where she spent most of her day greeting customers. She passed away in the 90's but was a truly sweet animal. I just feel like she should be on this list.

Jenny, this isn't meant to be a ranked list, just interesting stories. And it was written over a year ago. I am always looking for more interesting cat stories, so I will have to look up Dewey Readmore Books!

What about Dewey Readmore Books? That cat's story was the best selling book of last year. In fact, that puss is getting a movie based on his life. He was one awesome cat. I'm saddened that he wasn't mentioned in this top 5 feline list.

Great stories...but even the most famous cats don't compare to the loyalty and heroism of an average dog.

Great story. I love dogs, but I have a special place in my heart for cats, and I love seeing stories about them. We adopted a cat this year from a shelter that thinks it's a dog 50% of the time, so we got the best of both worlds. Our cat is named Oscar, so we want to know more about the Mental Floss Oscar.
