popular emblems and how they related to 17th cen dutch works are always amusing. . . those paintings are a lot more salacious than they seem! sepecifically Jan Steen’s oyster paitings. . .

Andrea – Can you write a post on one of El Greco’s paintings? I’ve always thought his style was unique and instantly recognizable, and I’d love to know more about him.
