nuclear The British and Australians find the American repetition of the [u] between the [k] and [l] quaintly amusing. Good reason to get it right.

  1. Mary, Thank you so much for your suggestion to send the “100 Most Mispronounced Words” to the president!!
If I knew how, I surely would do it!
I was also happy to find that list and I sent it to many, many people — because it annoys me to no end to hear words mispronounced (and misused!). I’m so tempted to say to a ‘mispronouncer,’ “What school you went?” I suppose I should just excuse them and be a nice, considerate person by ignoring it but, no, I can’t — and so I do correct people. Therefore, I’m sure I am considered a “know it all.”
Well, at least I feel satisfied that I do something useful for a person every day and that in itself can be “considerate” — can’t it?
