And MY BIRTHDAY!!!!:)

And oops: Several months after I was born, my mom casually said to my dad "I never thought to ask, but when was your anniversary with your first wife???" Dad's oh-so-very-quick reply, "I don't remember." Yep, you know where this is going. My birthday and dad's anniversary date to his first wife-November 28!!!

Happy birthday, Missy!

Actually, this day has zero significance for me, but my own birthday, of all days, has a ton. January 24 is the birthday of several current actors, authors, and musicians, as well as some of years past. I am continuously meeting people who have my birthday, too. It is so strange, how that works.

My dad, his father, and I were all born on
Nov. 28 (in 1947, 1919, and 1979, respectively), despite it not being the due date for any of us. My grandfather was more than a month early, my dad was a month early, and I was three days late.

gibson8tor: Thanks for pointing out that oddity! (I'm not too great with historical monetary conversions, so it hadn't struck me as odd.) I can't find another reference to the cost of his marriage bond, but I'm guessing it really cost 40 guineas, not 40£, since his application for a coat of arms cost 30 guineas. Sorry for the mistake!

40£ for a marriage license in 1582? According to measuringworth.com, that would be the equivalent of £7,175.69 in 2006 pounds, or $14,931.44 American dollars.
