Octopus Receives World Cup for Predictions A two-year-old octopus named Paul received worldwide acclaim for predicting the winner of the World Cup tournament. Paul correctly picked the winners of eight games by selecting one of two food containers with flags of the matched countries on them in his tank at Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany. One-armed Monkey Kills 80 Chickens Li Chun, farmer in Menghai, Yunnan, China found an injured monkey and adopted it, although the monkey had to have an arm and a leg amputated. It became a household pet. Now there's the problem of "monkey see, monkey do." The monkey watched Li crack eggs, and then went to the hen house and cracked every egg it could find. Maggots Force Plane Down A US Airways flight from Atlanta to Charlotte was forced to return to Atlanta when maggots began falling on the passengers. This caused an understandable commotion, and the plane was taken back to the airport. A bag in the overhead bin was found to contain spoiled meat that was infested. Jesus Goes Up in Flames A 62-foot tall statue of Jesus at the Solid Rock Church on I-75 near Cincinnati was sometimes called "Big Butter Jesus" or "Touchdown Jesus" because of his upstretched arms. Monday night, the statue was set ablaze by a bolt of lightning. The structure was made of foam and fiberglass over a steel frame. After the fire, only the frame remains. Police Chase Elephant Through Zurich Swiss police are not accustomed to a chase scene like this. An elephant named Sabu led them on a chase through the financial district of Zurich last weekend.
