I just found out that licking a stamp consumes 1/10 of a calorie. So if I usually burn 400 calories in 20 minutes on the elliptical machine at the gym, which I HATE going to, by the way -- all I have to do is stamp 4000 letters in 20 minutes, which, at nearly .40 cents a stamp, only comes out to about $1,600 dollars, right? Not a bad trade off, seeing as how much I love the taste of stamp-glue.
Problem is, licky stamps are harder and harder to find these days. I wonder how many calories I'd burn peeling and pasting 4000 stamps?
I'll get out the calculator and report back. Meanwhile, here are some other interesting ways to burn calories:
Doing the Laundry = 150 calories per 1 1/2 hours Driving a car = 125 calories per 1 1/2 hours Kissing = 125 calories per 1 1/2 hours Sitting = 1.6 calories per 1 1/2 hours Shopping = 325 calories per 1 1/2 hours
