#2) Make cheap wine taste great in minutes!
While Tom Hanks proved in Big that speeding through puberty isn't always the best idea, at least for humans, Japanese scientist Hiroshi Tanaka, feels differently about the effect on grapes. He's taking cheap wines, putting them through his modified electrolysis machine, and making them taste like expensive vintages in minutes! According to Esquire, the process is "similar to what happens when wine ages naturally, only roughly 30 million times faster." While Tanaka and friends are trying to figure out how best to crack a snobby market, they'll be releasing a thousand bottles of their own brand in Japan in the next few months, and are planning to release a version of their machine for home use eventually.
