While it's not quite an excuse to be happy for it, one interesting thing that has come out of global warming is the revelation of new species. According the National Geographic, as the Antarctic ice shelves have started to break up, scientists have been exposed to both new species as well as better sightings of known ones. Pictured below is the extraordinary Antarctic ice fish, which apparently has no red blood cells for better blood flow in cold waters.
