Donate Some Money, Get a Robot or Monster!

Neatorama and Boingboing have both blogged about this lovely new charity endeavor called Robots and Monsters, so naturally, I felt obligated as well! Essentially, artist Joe Alterio and his girlfriend are running in an AIDS Marathon in San Francisco, and to raise money they created this unique project. If you donate $25, and submit three words (like "Tiny, hotdog, blue"), they'll mail you a signed 6"x6" piece of original art of a monster or robot inspired by you! I think it's a brilliant idea—particularly because I have barren walls and love getting things in the mail. Oh, and I like charities, too. That said, the wait right now is running about 6 weeks thanks to the high demand, and it's only rising, so place your order soon if you want one. Link via Boingboing.
