Making Pasta in Kabul

You may remember friend-of-the-site Afghanistan Sam, an American expat living in Kabul whose guest-blog from a few years back about how to buy, butcher, and spit-roast a sheep for one's girlfriend's 30th birthday was a big hit. Well, Sam's been busy making films in Kabul since then -- pieces for major news outlets as well as working on a short narrative piece -- but one of my favorite things he's done recently, perhaps because of its simplicity and the door it opens into his life in Afghanistan, which has always been something of a mystery to me, is this video he made in which he roams his 'hood looking for ingredients to make pasta.
