Every Friday, I post a series of unrelated questions meant to spark conversation in the comments. Answer one, answer all, respond to someone else's reply, whatever you want. On to this week's topics of discussion...
1. The other day at the Exxon station conveniently located near my house, the proprietor nearly crashed into my car. He was flooring a van in reverse, not looking, while talking on his cell phone. I beeped and yelled, but that didn't feel very productive. So I decided I'm now boycotting his place of business, even if it means running out of gas. Are there any places that you're boycotting—either corporations because of their business practices, or individual stores because, like me, you like to hold a grudge?
2. The other night when my daughter informed me that it was "jump time" (not "bath time," as I'd suggested), I downloaded the memorable 1992 hit "Jump" by Kris Kross and we had ourselves a dance party. Best $1.29 I spent this week. It made me wonder what ever happened to Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly and Chris "Daddy Mac" Smith. According to a 2008 Jet profile, they're both still in the music business. But this brings me to another question for you guys—who would you like to see us tackle in a future "where are they now?" post? Entertainers, politicians, kids from famous news events, commercial spokesmen, and so on.
3. Another thing I learned while researching Kris Kross was they toured with Michael Jackson after Dangerous. Who's the best opening act you've ever seen at a concert? ("Best" could mean someone on the way up at the time, someone on the way down who still put on a great show, or however else you'd like to define it.)
4. What's the strangest thing you've witnessed in an airport?
Have a great weekend!
