Life on Mars (in Utah)
By Ransom Riggs

What happens when a handful of super-devoted science-types stake out a piece of ground in the middle of Utah and simulate a long-term manned mission to Mars? Nerd heaven, that's what! Motherboard.tv sent a crew into the desert (which looks pretty convincingly Martian, if you ask me) to hang with the crew, watch them measure their pee and tease them about their Star Trek uniforms. Seriously, though, the pseudo-colonists take their role as pre-explorers pretty seriously. When we do eventually send people to Mars, these guys will have lots of handy advice for them. One tidbit that could save your life on Mars? If it's yellow, let it mellow. Watch and learn!
