What New Holiday Should We Create?

Every Friday, I post a series of unrelated questions meant to spark conversation in the comments. Answer one, answer all, respond to someone else's reply, whatever you want. On to this week's topics of discussion...

1. Let's pretend you've been appointed calendar czar. Your first order of duty is creating one new federal holiday. You can choose to honor an event (The Day the Music Died Day), a person (Jon Voight Day)—whatever you want. Which new holiday would you propose? How should people celebrate? (This question came up on a recent Bill Simmons podcast.)

2. I was at Dunkin Donuts the other day when a seven- or eight-year-old kid cut the line and started screaming at the cashier. "How can you have a sign that says 'Free WiFi' when your WiFi isn't working?" He was shaking. I thought I was on that ABC hidden camera show What Would You Do? The customer is always right, except when the customer is a bratty kid dressing down food service workers. What's a recent example of horrible public behavior — kids or adults — you've witnessed?

3. What's the oldest piece of clothing you still wear regularly?

4. A couple weeks ago, I asked if any of you named your cars. Lots of people did. What other possessions have you given names? Houses? Laptops? Volleyballs?

Have a great weekend!
