Life Inside Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City

After reading about Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City, I suddenly feel really guilty about all the times I’ve complained about my condo being too small.
Originally a military fort, Kowloon Walled City eventually became a civilian sardine can, housing more than33,000 residents inside a 6.5 acre area.
While health conditions led to the complex being knocked down in the early 1990s, you can still get a good idea of the living conditions it offered by taking a look at a mapping of the city’s residences on Arch Daily – and a documentary about it posted by Laughing Squid.
