Scouting New York

Scouting New York was started by Nick Carr as a way to showcase the interesting and eclectic nooks and crannies he discovers while scouring the Big Apple as a motion picture location scout. The site features a variety of interesting posts – such as then & now photo comparisons on NY films like Ghostbusters and Taxi Driver, as well as unique landmarks like the Tower of Terror on W. 11th Street.

Recently Carr stopped by Rye Playland – which features the boardwalk where Josh Baskin is famously reunited with Zoltar in the film Big. As you can see, the machine currently residing on that very spot is slightly less magical:
