How Long Have You Known Your Oldest Friend?

Jason English

On Fridays, I post a series of unrelated questions meant to spark conversation in the comments. Answer one, answer all, respond to someone else's reply, whatever you want. On to this week's topics of discussion...

1. Reader Allyson challenged us to find the weirdest Wikipedia page out there, and I'm passing the buck to you. Let's define "weirdest" as "topic you're most surprised has a Wikipedia page," with extra points for unnecessary length.

2. How long have you known your oldest friend? Someone you regularly see or speak to.
Have you stayed close all these years? How'd you first meet?

3a. I have no idea whether this question will generate fascinating responses or blank stares. What's a book you wish you'd read in college? It should be a book that had an impact on you later in life—and presumably having that knowledge earlier would have been a good thing. I realize this question leaves out anyone college age or younger. So for those lucky people, 3b. What are you up to this weekend?

4. Silly, self-serving, just-because-I'm-curious question of the week: Do you currently have a pencil sharpener in your house? I ask because I realized this week I do not, which when combined with a stockpile of unsharpened pencils became an issue.

Enjoy the weekend!
