Use #532 for Old Found Photographs: Indie Band

I thought I'd seen or done just about everything you could do with old found photos -- collect them obsessively, cut them up and make collages, invent stories about them, make freaky digital art like the guy from Devo -- and then a friend drew my attention to this, which I don't know how I missed but somehow did. The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players are many things: a family of three, a gang of garage-sale photo hunters, and an indie band. They describe themselves as an "indie-vaudeville conceptual art-rock pop band," but the short-and-makes-sense version of what they do is compose and play songs along to slideshows. It's a bit hard to describe, so check out this appearance they made on Conan a while back:

Yeah, they're a bit scruffy around the edges and aggressively indie, but I like their carnivalesque sound and, naturally, the old pictures! What do you think?
