Your Mom Is So Old the Babylonians Made Fun of Her

Some things are just purely human, it would appear. Researchers examining the engravings on a series of 3,500-year-old lost Babylonian tablets recently posted their findings, and what they found were basically jokes about sex, comments mocking politicians, talk about beer, and a confusing (and incomplete) attempt to make fun of another person’s mother.

The jokes themselves don't make a lot of sense to modern day readers. For example:

Question: The deflowered girl did not become pregnant. The undeflowered girl became pregnant. What is it? Answer: Auxiliary forces.

Zing!

Then again, a lot of modern jokes don’t make much more sense or elicit much laughter either. See, things really don’t change.
