Some animals were born to herd livestock. Our family dog is a border collie who likes nothing better than to run circles around the four cats and groups of teenagers who also live here in order to keep any one of them from straying. You also expect shepherds and sheepdogs to excel at herding. But this instinct isn't restricted to the breeds, or even the species that you expect!

Rabbit

Champis is a dwarf rabbit in Sweden who think he's a sheepdog! He belongs to Nils-Erik and Greta who have a farm near the village of Käl. That's about all I can get from the Swedish, but you can read more at Gårdsbacken's blog.

Horse

This horse in Ireland has absolute power over this herd of sheep.
*

Pig

Yes, this one is fictional. Babe the pig learned to be a sheepdog in the 1995 film Babe.
*

Monkeys

Yeah, well, that's true, they are riding dogs. But it's still monkeys herding sheep! This performance was part of the 2012 Jook Joint Festival in Clarksdale Mississippi.

Sheep
