Weekend Links: The Statue of Liberty in Paris

Most of the United States has been in a devastating heat wave this week (also I've been watching the Euros taking place in Poland and Ukraine and it seems there are very high temperatures there now as well!). So how exactly does your body cope? (Thanks Alexis for this link!)

Why must we take out our laptops for airport security scanners?
*
The Guardian has an interesting interactive site in honor of the Rio+20 -- is the world getting better or worse? Take a look at the info and then vote at the end and see what others think.
*
Want to get away from it all? I mean really get away from it all? How about a trip to Point Nemo - the location in the ocean farthest away from any other land!
*
Seeing the Statue of Liberty anywhere else than where it currently stands would be odd just given its sheer size, but seeing it in Paris where it was constructed is indeed even weirder.
*
I love when heavily produced songs are stripped down to the basics, and I have to say, Skrillex on piano does not disappoint. Quite lovely really (if you went more downtempo it would be seriously great!)
*
Interesting consideration - What Would Humanity Be Like Without Aging? (I guess this was somewhat covered in that movie "In Time," though I've not seen it yet)
*
What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Who knows, but now you can know what happens when two smoke rings collide. And it's still pretty cool.
*
Plenty of Ben and Jerry flavors seem fake, but here are some pop-culture suggestions for them that I wish were real! (OK, maybe not all of them …)
