Yesterday Barry Larkin, the longtime Cincinnati Reds shortstop, was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame. But back in 1956 another man named Barry Larkin pulled off an Olympics torch relay hoax by building one out of “a wooden chair leg painted silver, on top of which was a plum pudding can.”
