AMC's The Walking Dead is one of my favorite TV shows, but I've been a zombie-story fan for more than 30 years. Even before these "How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse" books made their way to shelves, I used to wonder how I would make it in that type of world. (The truth? I wouldn't. I'm too fat, too slow, and have a big, juicy head.) But let's set up a scenario:
Suppose you're at one end of a hallway, and a steady stream of zombies are ambling toward you down the hall. You have a handgun and two clips with, say, 30 rounds. What would you do? How would you survive?
My idea is to dispose of the first few zombies and let them fall. Then the others would stumble and fall over the first ones, capping any strays as necessary, and creating a "wall" of prone zombies that can't move, trapping the others behind. That would give me time to collect my thoughts and plot an escape. What's your idea? How would you handle a similar situation? Please limit yourself to one answer, and share it with us in the comments below. Thanks!
