Forget the terrifying tales you’ve heard. The number of accidents in the famed triangle bounded by Miami, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda is neither alarming nor disproportionate compared with other parts of the ocean. But if you need a better indication of just how little menace resides in that pointy patch of real estate, consider this: The marine insurers at Lloyd’s of London don’t charge higher premiums for traveling through the area. Although the extremely superstitious may still avoid the triangle, plenty of commercial ships and flights cruise the area daily without disappearing.
