The Least-Remembered Countries in the World

Today's map uses data from Sporcle's popular "Name the Countries of the World" quiz, which has been taken almost 8 million times. According to Alexa, about 60% of Sporcle's traffic comes from the United States, so this is heavily weighted to what countries Americans do and don't remember. Americans who choose to take world geography quizzes online for fun.
With those caveats, here are the countries named by fewer than 50% of people (not all of these show up on the map): Equatorial Guinea, Tonga, Kyrgyzstan, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Grenada, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Solomon Islands, Brunei, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Burkina Faso, St. Vincent-Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Timor-Leste, Comoros, Palau, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, Sao Tome and Principe, Kiribati, Nauru.
The Afternoon Map is a semi-regular feature in which we post maps and infographics. In the afternoon. Semi-regularly. Thanks to @Amazing_Maps for tweeting out this one.
