Despite the good work of Californians to manage energy, save water and reduce emissions, we are at a critical time. As such, the California State Bear has left the flag to stress efficient management of the state's energy, water, and other precious resources.

A recent national study says the effects of climate change are already being felt throughout the nation – and California is facing a near record drought, a hotter than expected summer and a looming deadline to meet energy goals to try and fight climate change today and protect California for generations to come.

Looking beyond this summer, California has just five and half years to go to reach ambitious energy goals that, when met, will help it meet 2020 air emissions goals and become a truly sustainable state.
