The Most Iconic Soft Drink in Each State

The good people at Thrillist followed up their map of iconic food chains with one about soft drinks. Some of these are no-brainers: Coke in Georgia, Moxie in Maine, Kool-Aid in Nebraska. I remember a good friend traveling a great distance to get Cherikee Red in Ohio when we were kids.
How'd they come up with each selection? "Some are made exclusively in that state," said Adam Lapetina, "[and] some are loved the hardest in that state." Alaska gets Pepsi because there's a bottling plant there, and Coke won the Dakotas because apparently there are few other options. Do you agree with your state's signature soft drink? Anyone from the Dakotas want to nominate something other than Coke? Here's the full list.
The Afternoon Map is a semi-regular feature in which we post maps and infographics. In the afternoon. Semi-regularly. Thanks to Mitchell Maglio and Adam Lapetina of Thrillist for this one.
