Harry Potter Knitting Book Teaches You How to Craft Clothes and Creatures From the Wizarding World

Assuming you don't have to fight off Dementors and Death Eaters, the world of Harry Potter seems like a cozy place. You may not have a Gryffindor house common room to snuggle up in, but with a little creativity, you can bring some of the warm and fuzzy feelings of Hogwarts into your home. Harry Potter: Knitting Magic, a how-to book set for a 2020 release, teaches you how to recreate the costumes, accessories, and even creatures of the Harry Potter books with some yarn and needles.
According to Nerdist, author and knitting star Tanis Gray applied her expertise to the wizarding world for the book, which is being published by Insight Editions. These guides include some of the most iconic knitted apparel from the novels and films, like Hogwarts house scarves, Fleur Delacour's cape, and Mrs. Weasley's Christmas sweaters.
If you're interested in bringing characters from the franchise to life, there are knitting patterns for that as well. After reading the guide, you'll be ready to handcraft knitted versions of a Cornish pixie, Hedwig the Owl, and Fluffy the three-headed dog.
Harry Potter: Knitting Magic will be available to purchase on January 28, 2020—a great time for curling up with your favorite Harry Potter book in your new Hufflepuff scarf. You can preorder it for $27 on Amazon.
