Watch a Young Steve Carell in His Second City Graduation Show
We all have to start somewhere. Before he was an Academy Award-nominated actor, Steve Carell was just another comedy hopeful at Second City theater in Chicago (incidentally, not a bad place for a comedy hopeful). In this clip from the early '90s, Carell plays a rhyming, reluctant lumberjack as one half of a two-man skit in the Second City graduation performance. It probably wouldn't have won him any Oscars, even if the audience had extended beyond friends and family, but Carell is quick and charming.
