Disney’s New Color-Changing Mug Features More Than 40 Classic Characters

If you feel like a lifeless shadow every morning before you fill your veins with caffeine, you might identify with this Disney-themed mug. When empty, its exterior is covered with dark silhouettes of more than 40 classic Disney characters—but as soon as you fill the mug with a hot beverage, the design comes alive in full color.

As Simplemost reports, the animated characters are all from films that Disney released between the 1930s and 1960s, so you won’t find anybody from Frozen or even The Lion King in attendance. That said, there are still dozens of beloved princesses, talking animals, and dastardly villains to get excited about. Peter Pan is depicted in mid-flight (keeping a weather eye out for Captain Hook, of course), and Sleeping Beauty sings while her three fairy guardians watch from a different patch of porcelain. You can spot several of Disney’s best dogs, including 101 Dalmatians’s Pongo and Perdita and Lady and the Tramp’s Lady and the Tramp; and the character collection wouldn’t be complete without the mouse, the myth, the legend himself—yes, Mickey Mouse is on this mug.

The ceramic mug measures 4.5 inches tall with a 3.75-inch diameter and can hold approximately 16 ounces of liquid. It’ll change color as long as that liquid is hot, though the Disney Store doesn’t specify at what temperature the magic starts to kick in. It does note, however, that the mug isn’t microwave- or dishwasher-safe, so you should stick to washing it by hand.
