On Fridays, we ask a bunch of unrelated questions. Your answers help get us through the afternoon. Answer one, answer all, or ask your own question. On to this week's topics...
1. My dog's fears have always been fairly rational: thunder, lightning, nail clippers. But a few years ago we noticed that the process of putting batteries in the Wii remote just terrifies her. I can't figure out why, exactly—I put batteries in other devices without incident, and the Wiimote itself does not interest or concern her. What's the most inexplicable thing your dog or cat or pygmy hippopotamus is afraid of?
2. My two older daughters (6 and 4) watch a lot of how it's made videos. Actual How It's Made videos, Mister Rogers' field trips, random factory tours people put on YouTube. What's the most fascinating thing you've seen made (on a video the rest of us can enjoy)? I'm glad to know where Nerds Rope comes from.
3. We're about halfway through graduation season. Who was your commencement speaker? Do you remember any of his or her advice?
4. Picture yourself on a road trip. You're driving along an unfamiliar stretch of highway, you're hungry, and you're ready to make a stop. What restaurant sign would you be most excited to see?
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
