A Dome that Gives Fish a Change of Scenery

The scenery under a manmade pond can be rather lackluster—those fake plants certainly don't compare to the natural wonders that exist on land (at least, according to The Little Mermaid's Ariel). Fortunately, there's a way to give your store-bought fish the chance to admire their surroundings: Velda’s Floating Fish Dome, a $200 Plexiglass structure that floats on top of the water.

According to the Danish aquarium technology company, fish can be trained to enter the dome by placing food on top to lure them to the surface.

The dome is 31 inches across, so unless you’re storing a tuna in your backyard pond, you shouldn’t have to worry about anyone getting stuck. Unfortunately, the domes are not currently available in the United States.
