The second season of The Witcher hasn’t yet dropped on Netflix, but the streamer has gone all-in on this show—look to the animated movie or the upcoming spinoff if you want proof—and it’s a given that season 3 will be confirmed eventually.

In fact, the producers are already at work on it, as The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich shared at the Lucca Comics & Games 2021 festival in Italy, according to "What I will say about the third season, the writers are back in Los Angeles diligently working while I am here getting to do this, so I’m grateful for them,” she said. “It’s a really fun season, and it follows a particular book very closely, has a lot of action, some death ... some death.”

The Witcher is one of the many fantasy shows that sprung up in the shadow of Game of Thrones, a series famous for killing off characters. So of course some of its characters will be dying. Fear for Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, and the rest.

Who will die in The Witcher?

That said, if you want to know who dies in The Witcher season 3, you can just look to the books by Andrzej Sapkowski. The first season was based on The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny. It looks like the upcoming second season will be based on Blood of Elves. If we keep going in order, the third season should be based on Time of Contempt.

Does anyone die in Time of Contempt? We won’t spoil it, but the information is out there if you want to look it up.
