When a water droplet is in the process of drying, this is what it looks like. The image above is a micrograph (an image taken through a microscope) taken by Devin Brown, a researcher at Georgia Tech, of a water drop that accidentally fell onto a silicon chip in the lab. Brown—who was using an electron beam to make microscopic patterns on the chip—snapped the photo at 10x magnification.
