Grumpy Cat to Get Wax Figure at Madame Tussauds

Grumpy Cat has gone viral on Reddit, written three books, and starred in her very own Lifetime movie—and now, she’s following in the footsteps of many a celebrity before her by getting her very own Madame Tussauds wax figure.

The internet famous feline will be the first cat immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds. According to CNET, Grumpy Cat’s figure will also be animatronic and feature five movements. Madame Tussauds released a video of the cat’s sitting last week. (It usually takes about 150 measurements to make a human celebrity wax figure; no word on how many measurements Grumpy Cat required.)

As one might be expect, Grumpy looked less-than-enthused about the whole thing, which she confirmed in typically cranky fashion in a press release: “This is truly an honor,” she said. “I hate it.”

The animatronic Grumpy Cat will debut at Madame Tussauds' San Francisco location before moving to the attraction’s five other locations around the country.
