A group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope, so it’s fitting that the artists over at Pop Chart Lab are calling their latest poster depicting a whirlwind of nearly 50 species “A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies.” With thousands of different species in the world, Pop Chart Lab knew they couldn’t show them all. Instead, they selected the most interesting, varied, and visually striking specimens they could find. The butterflies are from all over the world, and include little-known specimens as well as iconic species like the Monarch—a summer staple of North America. The colorful poster is as educational as it is breathtaking. Each of the butterflies is depicted to scale and labeled, from the mammoth Giant Owl to the minuscule Glasswinged, so it’s a perfect starting point for any budding entomologist.
