When you flush the toilet, you’re washing away a valuable resource. While we no longer use pee as a dental health treatment, scientists have imagined plenty of uses for the most renewable of human resources, urine. PBS’ Gross Science video series tackles the various uses of recycled pee in its latest episode. Surprise utilitarian uses for urine include treatments for menopause, electricity generation that can power phones and lights, and, of course, drinking water in space

And one more liquid asset: Depending on where you live, your drinking water might already contain purified pee. Yay, recycling!
