These Are the Star Wars Helmet Speakers You're Looking For

Anticipation for the next film in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, continues to build as the December 18 release date nears. Merchandise and licensing for the property is in hyperdrive as companies rush to profit off of the film’s guaranteed success. To appeal to geeky audiophiles, AC Worldwide has gotten permission from LucasFilm and Disney to create officially licensed Bluetooth speakers shaped like the helmets of C3PO and a Stormtrooper.

The 12-inch tall wireless speakers are made of high quality plastic, with each component injection moulded to preserve every detail. The 2.1 stereo sound systems feature downward facing subwoofers, a rechargeable battery that lasts 4 to 5 hours and takes 2 to 3 hours to recharge, LEDs in the eyes that glow when paired with a device, and built-in stands so that they can be placed on any flat surface. AC Worldwide has looked to the Kickstarter community to help get the speakers produced, and they have set a goal just shy of $91,000. Reward incentives for pledging include rose gold-plated C3PO speakers and white gold Stormtrooper helmets.
