Where Are You Most Likely to Encounter a Ghost?

This Halloween, protect yourself by staying away from hot spots for supernatural activity with the help of real estate website Trulia, which made a map to America's spookiest places. "We created an extensive survey to identify the most spooky, and therefore most ghost-infested, places across the country," Peter Black, a geospatial engineer at Trulia, writes in a blog post. "It was a very scientific survey. And not at all random." As you can see on the map, places like New Orleans and Seattle are cities to avoid this upcoming Halloween (or places to check out if you're a paranormal investigator). We're not saying one of these cities could be on top of a Hellmouth, but better safe than sorry, right?
Here's some more in-depth information about the map:
Trulia also created maps to show areas at high risk of vampire or zombie attacks here. Be careful out there!
The Afternoon Map is a semi-regular feature in which we post maps and infographics. In the afternoon. Semi-regularly. Thanks to Trulia for this one.
