Artist Reimagines Star Wars Characters With Classical Greek Statues

Not all Star Wars fan art looks fit for exhibition at one of the world’s great art museums, but these mash-ups of Star Wars characters and classical Greek statuary sure do. Artist Travis Durden (not his real name, but apparently he’s a Fight Club fan) sculpted five different statues using the heads of Star Wars characters like Darth Vader and Yoda on the bodies of classical statues found in the Louvre.

In Durden’s work, Yoda becomes a ponderous angel, Darth Vader looks like a shy celebrity walking a red carpet, and a Stormtrooper appears deep in study.

The statues are on view as part of a Star Wars-themed exhibition called Contre Attaque at the Parisian gallery Sakura

Let’s all just take a moment to admire Vader’s luscious locks. Oh, and those killer abs.
