Pluto is looking a little radical these days. To make this psychedelic portrait of the dwarf planet, NASA scientists took the image created from July data from the spacecraft New Horizons, and made it false-color to highlight the variations in the planet’s landscape. Pluto may look bleakly gray in most photos, but there’s a lot going on down there. Many shades of gray, at least.
