Since 1983, the Swiss watch company Swatch has created hundreds of designs, many of which were made in collaboration with famous artists, companies, and organizations around the world. As part of a recent Sotheby's auction, a massive 4000-piece collection from Swatch designers Marlyse Schmid and Bernard Muller was included as a single lot and sold for nearly $1.3 million. The lot included hand-drawn design sheets, nearly 1000 original watches, 380 prototypes, and other pieces that together illustrate the history of the company.

The online auction page doesn't list each individual piece in the Schmid and Muller collection, but it does provide a sample gallery of some of the objects included, like watches with artwork by Keith Haring and Kiki Picasso, and detailed charts of the inner workings of the timepieces.
