Creating fresh cover art for one of the most popular book series on Earth is quite the challenge. But graphic designer Olly Moss has managed to do so with his collection of nuanced images created for the digital Harry Potter books.

Each cover consists of a minimalist picture with a simple color palette that would look striking on its own, but upon closer inspection you’ll find hidden images that add new layers to each scene. In the cover art for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, an owl is pictured perched on a branch shaped like Harry’s lightning bolt scar. The “chamber” on the Chamber of Secrets cover is shaped like a winding snake, and Harry’s mark on the cover of the final book resembles the profile of Voldemort himself.

The covers invite Harry Potter fans both new and old to see the stories in a whole new light. If you’re itching to dive into the series for the first time or the hundredth time, you can purchase the newly covered eBooks through Pottermore in 2016.
