Portland Airport Adding Movie Theater to Its Terminal

Whether you're delayed or have a scheduled layover, waiting around in an airport terminal can be pretty boring. But one American hub is looking to give restless travelers a different kind of experience while they wait for their flights. Portland International Airport is teaming up with the city's Hollywood Theatre to open a new cinema for travelers.
"The films screened at PDX will introduce travelers to the diverse array of experiences Oregon and the surrounding region has to offer," PDX spokeswoman Kama Simonds told CNN of the theater, which will mostly showcase short films from local filmmakers.
PDX isn’t the only airport in the United States to open a movie theater for globetrotters. In 2014, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport opened a small movie theater that operates 24/7 and offers art house films curated by The Film Society of Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Hollywood Theatre, PDX is slated to open sometime this summer.
