Eat Super Bowl Snacks From a Settlers of Catan "Nacho Board"
If you’d rather be playing Settlers of Catan than watching football, there’s no need to skip your friend’s Super Bowl shindig this Sunday. After all, you can whip out the board games during halftime—or you can eat snacks served in a Settlers of Catan-inspired nacho bowl.
Inspired by Wood For Sheep: The Unauthorized Settlers Cookbook, the nerdy cooking-themed website Kitchen Overlord re-created the multiplayer game in food form. All you need are multiple hexagon-shaped bowls that are large enough to hold jalapenos, guacamole, tomatoes, cheese, and other fixings. (Pro tip? Take a cue from scientists, and purchase plastic hexagonal weight boats.) Push them together, and they look like the island of Catan. As for chips, Kitchen Overlord suggests that you buy some blue hexagon-shaped corn tortillas and spread them around the bowl so they look like the board game's ocean.
