Photographic poster artist Jordan Bolton has created every cineaste’s next art obsession with a beautiful collection of flat lay object-filled movie posters. The posters, which are available for purchase on Etsy, feature dozens of key objects from the plot lines of such beloved films as Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo (1958) and Michel Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004).

“I hope that by presenting the film’s events and characters only by the objects used, it provides a fresh view of the film,” Bolton tells mental_floss of his intention with the series. “Even for someone who has seen it many times before, they’re a way of almost viewing the film devoid of its plot and purely through its colors and themes.”

In the case of his poster for Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums, Bolton has included Margot Tenenbaum’s four-fingered glove and Richie Tenenbaum’s tennis racquet and sweatbands.

In addition to his handmade movie posters (many of which can be seen below), Bolton has also handcrafted posters for some British bands like The Smiths, New Order, and The Stone Roses.

All of Bolton’s posters are available through his Etsy store and range in price from $12 to $32.
