Ever wonder how rainbow sprinkles are made? This episode of How It's Made has all the delicious answers. Each color of sprinkle is made individually—from what the host describes as a "variety of liquid and food colorants," shortening, and other ingredients—and then eventually mixed together in a tumbler. After that, it takes about five minutes for all the colors to be properly shuffled. Once they're combined, they're ready to be bottled and sold (hopefully for ice cream parties).
