CinemaCon Offers a Glimpse at the Theater Food of the Future

Bored with the candy and food options at your local theater? In the future, you might have more unique snacking options. At least, if any of the new technologies and products displayed this past weekend at CinemaCon in Las Vegas catch on, The Verge reports.
At the annual convention for theater owners, studios and theater-related brands show off their newest wares. And while the celebrities and upcoming movie releases get a lot of the spotlight each year, they aren't the only stars of the show. Vendors also present the latest in concession fare and other theater-related products. This year, highlights from the trade show included soybean snacks, non-alcoholic drink flavor enhancers, a robot popcorn maker, and a Hands Free Popcorn Bucket, which has a base that fits into a cup holder.
But don't get too excited yet: Just because these cool products were shown at a trade show doesn't mean that they will show up at every theater in the world. In the meantime, we'll keep our fingers crossed for White Castle burgers and spill-proof popcorn holders.
